1. Who Sends These Messages
These SMS Messaging Terms govern text messages sent by Dextera Software LLC(“Dextera,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and, where indicated, by independent home-service businesses (“Contractors”) that use Dextera’s communication software platform to contact their own customers.
Messages are sent from phone numbers powered by Twilio, Inc., Dextera’s messaging infrastructure provider. Each Contractor operates a dedicated phone number provisioned through the Dextera platform.
2. Messaging Programs
Dextera operates the following distinct SMS messaging programs. Each program has its own opt-in method, message type, and frequency.
Program A — Missed-Call Auto-Reply
- Sender:
- The Contractor whose phone number the consumer called.
- Recipient:
- A consumer who placed an inbound telephone call to a Contractor’s business phone number and whose call was not answered.
- Opt-in:
- By placing a telephone call to the Contractor’s SMS-enabled business phone number, the consumer initiates contact and consents to receive one (1) automated SMS reply acknowledging the missed call. The business phone number is advertised on the Contractor’s website with a notice that missed calls receive an automated text reply.
- Message type:
- A single automated text that identifies the Contractor by name, acknowledges the missed call, invites a reply, and includes STOP/HELP instructions and a message-and-data-rates notice.
- Frequency:
- Exactly 1 message per missed inbound call. Subsequent messages are only sent if the consumer replies and continues the conversation.
Program B — Website Lead Follow-Up
- Sender:
- The Contractor whose website the consumer visited, or Dextera for leads submitted on dexterasoftware.com.
- Recipient:
- A consumer who completed and submitted a contact or quote-request form on the Contractor’s website and checked the SMS consent checkbox on that form.
- Opt-in:
- The consumer typed their phone number into the contact form, checked a clearly labeled checkbox that reads: “I agree to receive SMS messages from [Contractor] about my inquiry and related services. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out,” and clicked the form’s submit button. Checking the box is required to receive follow-up text messages; the form may still be submitted without the checkbox to receive email-only follow-up.
- Message type:
- Transactional and customer-care messages related to the consumer’s inquiry, including: inquiry confirmation, estimate scheduling, appointment confirmation and reminders, and project status updates.
- Frequency:
- Varies based on the scope of the project. Typically fewer than 10 messages total per inquiry lifecycle (inquiry → estimate → project → completion).
Program C — Review Request
- Sender:
- The Contractor whose services the consumer received.
- Recipient:
- A consumer who received a completed service from the Contractor and who provided their phone number in the course of that business relationship (e.g., via a prior website form submission that included SMS consent, or verbally during the service appointment with a written or digital acknowledgment of the review-request text).
- Opt-in:
- Consent is established through the prior business relationship and the consumer’s original SMS opt-in (Program B above), or through a separate written or digital consent recorded by the Contractor at or before the time of service.
- Message type:
- A single SMS thanking the consumer for their business and providing a link to leave a review on Google or another platform chosen by the Contractor.
- Frequency:
- Exactly 1 message per completed job. No repeat review requests are sent to the same consumer for the same service.
Program D — Customer Support / Conversational
- Sender:
- The Contractor or Dextera support staff.
- Recipient:
- A consumer who has already opted in via Program A, B, or C and who initiates or continues a two-way SMS conversation.
- Opt-in:
- Established through the consumer’s prior opt-in under one of the programs above. The consumer initiates or continues the conversation voluntarily.
- Message type:
- Responses to consumer-initiated questions, scheduling clarifications, and service-related support.
- Frequency:
- Varies; responsive to consumer messages only.
3. How to Opt Out (STOP)
You may opt out of SMS messages from any program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. After you send STOP, you will receive one (1) final confirmation message informing you that no further messages will be sent. No additional messages will be sent following that confirmation unless you voluntarily re-initiate contact (for example, by calling the business number again or submitting a new web form with SMS consent).
You may also opt out by contacting us directly at ben@dexterasoftware.com or (945) 307-0665 and requesting removal.
4. How to Get Help (HELP)
Text HELP to any number you received a message from. You will receive a response identifying the sender, a brief description of the program, and instructions to reply STOP to cancel or contact us at ben@dexterasoftware.com for support.
5. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply to messages you send and receive. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your plan. Dextera and the Contractor do not charge separately for SMS communications.
6. Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to your carrier’s network conditions and coverage area.
7. Consent Is Not a Condition of Purchase
You are never required to consent to receive SMS messages as a condition of purchasing any service from Dextera or from any Contractor using the Dextera platform.
8. Privacy and Data Sharing
Phone numbers and SMS consent records collected through these programs are used solely to send the messages described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent status with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Twilio, Inc. processes messages as our infrastructure subprocessor and handles opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) keyword responses on our behalf. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
